Inverter installation for campervans and motorhomes
An inverter converts battery DC power into mains-style AC power so suitable 230V equipment can be used away from hook-up. JRGMTS installs standalone inverters, remote sockets, inverter/chargers and suitable changeover arrangements as part of correctly designed leisure systems.
Why inverter size matters
A larger inverter can run larger loads but demands much more current from a 12V battery. Power divided by voltage gives current: 1000W at 12V is roughly 83A before losses; 2000W is roughly 167A. Real current is higher once conversion losses are included.
That is why large inverters need appropriately sized batteries, short heavy cables, correct fuse protection and secure connections.
What we can install
- Standalone inverters
- Remote controls
- Dedicated remote 230V sockets
- Inverter/charger systems
- Manual or automatic changeover arrangements where appropriate
- Battery monitoring and DC protection
Inverter/charger explained
An inverter/charger can create AC from the battery off-grid and charge the battery when an AC supply is available.
Frequently asked questions
Can I run a kettle?
Potentially, but kettles are high-power loads and the whole system must be sized for it.
Can you install remote sockets?
Yes, as part of a suitable inverter installation.
Does a bigger inverter mean more battery life?
No. It only increases maximum power available.
